One Color Brioche (Brioche 101) - May 8 & 15 @ 3:00pm

Learn a unique way to make textured fabrics using the brioche stitch! The first half of the class will explore the brioche stitch, increases, decreases, and reading brioche charts. Students will create practice swatches to understand techniques. In the second half of the class, students will cast-on and begin a beautiful one-color brioche shawl using techniques learned at the beginning of class.

Duration: Two, 2-hour sessions. Meet once per week. This will be presented as a class/knit along, so homework will be required of students to keep up with the class schedule.

Yarn: 3 skeins (900 yds) of DK weight yarn (recommend Plymouth Reserve Sport, Malabrigo Arroyo, or Plymouth Cuzco Cashmere)

Materials: US 7 circular needles with 40” cable, tapestry needle, stitch markers, Lisse Shawl Pattern (available for purchase on Ravelry)

Skills Required: Ability to cast on, knit, purl, increase/decrease stitches, and read patterns.
