What Is Wack-A-WIP?
![]() If you’re a stitcher, you most likely know what it’s like to fall in love with some yarn, start a project, love it… and then see something else. Fall in love with new yarn, start a new project, love it… and then see something else… it’s an endless cycle of inspiration and loving yarn! How can it be helped, with all this beautiful fiber around? It’s just something that us creative stitchers have to accept. However, that sometimes means that we have a problem actually FINISHING a project. I have to admit, I am guilty of that myself. It’s not that we don’t want to finish our beautiful projects, it’s just that with so many wonderful distractions, it’s hard to stay focused on one thing! I know I have a hard time working on just one thing from cast-on to cast-off; I get bored and want to start something else! Unfortunately, that leaves many of us with an increasing number of “works-in-progress” (WIPs).
For those of you stitchers like us, amazing and creative but alas, somewhat distracted, welcome to Wack-A-WIP. It’s an incredible system in which you list up to 12 WIPs on the Wack-A-WIP worksheet, and then randomly choose a number (1-12) each month. You will work on whatever project that number is associated with on the worksheet. If you don’t have 12 WIPs (ha!), you can assign projects several times to fill up the sheet. (That way, regardless of the number chosen, you have a designated project to work on.) If you’d like to join She Sells Yarn in our Wack-A-WIP adventure, feel free to download the free worksheet any time throughout the year, and join in! Helen spins a virtual wheel each month to choose a number, and then announces that number on the She Sells Yarn website and on Facebook. Even if you don’t finish all – or any – of your WIPs, you’ll at least have made progress on several of them! Remember to enjoy the process and of course, don’t be afraid to cast-on more wonderful things!! I know I sure am! ???? |
