Want a longer sock? Short cuff? Making socks from the toe up ensure that you have enough yarn for both feet without fear of running out Students will gain basic sock knitting skills while learning the magic loop method of knitting.
This will be presented at a class/knit along, so homework will be required of students to keep up with the class schedule. The first class will review sock construction and discuss yarn, sizing, fitting, and gauge for socks. From there, we’ll get the students started by casting on and building the toe. Next, we’ll explore a toe-up heel shaping. Lastly, the class will discuss some options for binding off your toe-up sock!
Yarn: 1 skein of sock yarn (student’s choice, but should have ~10% nylon for durability)
— a lighter color yarn is recommended for your own sanity
Duration: Two, 2-hour sessions. Meet once per week. Homework will be required to keep up with class schedule.
Schedule: Saturdays, January 11th and 18th from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM
