Double Knitting - May 10 & 17 at 10:30 am

Learn how to create a perfect two-color image on both sides of a knitted project! In the first session, students will learn how to read a double knitting chart and practice holding two yarns at the same time. This class will also teach a unique tubular cast-on that produces perfect edges for double knitting. In the second session, students will begin their choice of project (potholder or scarf) and ensure that their double knitting career is off to a fantastic start!
Duration: Two, 2 hour sessions. Meet once per week. Homework will be required to keep up with class schedule.

Yarn: Potholder: 2 skeins of worsted weight yarn in contrasting colors. Scarf: 2 skeins of fingering weight yarn in contrasting colors or gradients.

Materials: #7 circular needles with at least 24” cable, tapestry needle, 2 stitch markers

Skills Required: Ability to cast on, knit, and purl. Preferably comfortable with knitting both English and Continental styles.
