Hi friends and supporters of She Sells Yarn! Thanks for your patience over the past couple of days when the blog has remained quiet so that we could take care of some of the nitty gritty in the store. There has been a lot to do recently as we got the shop cleaned, the fixtures in, inventory tagged and put away, computer systems fought with...the norm for any young store. Things are beginning to quiet down now as we wait for more products to come in, so an update seemed in order.
We have added a slide show to the website of some pictures taken along the way. The slide show seems small in the corner, but you can click on it and it will take you to the album for bigger viewing. She Sells Yarn has its very own account on Facebook and Twitter, so look for the shop and add us there! There are tons of updates and pictures on Facebook as well. All of the regular classes are now in the calendar so you can view them there. There will be special classes coming on Sundays, with dates times and prices TBD, but the topics for these will be appearing in the next blog post. There is a form on the left side of the screen made to gather a little information about our visitors and we would love it if you would fill that out.
While planning some of the updates and info I wanted to post, I was thinking that friends of the store who read the blog or join the mailing list might like a segment along the lines of "From the Owner"- you know, kind of like that nice little note from the editor you always see in the front of magazines? Then as I glance over at Kathleen and see her fighting with her computer as it refuses to do as she says yet again I realize at the moment asking for a couple paragraphs might be just a little much. My next brilliant idea is perhaps I will follow her around and write down some of the brilliant things she says as orders come in...sort of give people the inside scoop. That might not have gone as well as I'd hoped either, because I ended up with this stream of consciousness that mostly consists of: "oooh! that's pretty....where did I put that?...oh look shiny...why isn't it printing?...is that the phone?...what was I about to do?...have you seen my pen?...ooooh! pretty color!...ooooh! pretty color!...hey can I keep that?...why is the printer printing? oh right that's what I was doing...oooh! pretty color!" Haha I mostly kid but she is working super hard so it'll be a few weeks before those deep insightful little notes are coming in your weekly emails from She Sells Yarn.
All that being said I went to my next most senior manager for some words of wisdom to entertain our little following. Sadly he didn't have a lot to offer either. He was very excited for a while about the edition of a new rug in the shop and did not have time to talk to me as he was too busy testing the high points of all the good spots to lay. After that he was rather put out with me because I wouldn't share my pizza. He was much happier later when it was time for his supper but at that point declined his interview in favor of a nap. He says he will take questions at a later date.
That leaves you, the reader, with me, head slave...I mean shop elf :) I am here to provide all the behind the scenes, news, info, answers, humor, updates etc. I am here to answer all questions shop related, noting too small or trivial. And I do suggest you come to me, Bandit only answers if you have a cookie for him, haha.
